Double standards are those "rules" or actions that, when applied, tend to benefit the user of said standard. Why is that? Why do double standards exist when the stated goal of a relationship is usually for both parties to be happy? More specifically, why do we accept double standards as S.O.P. (Standard Operating Procedure) for our gender; but suggest the opposite sex having them as an attack on humanity?
I had a revelation the other day. Well, maybe not a revelation. Let’s just call it an astute observation with a hint of social relevance. My revelation observation came while listening to a variety of political pundits wax poetic about how “some” Americans (aka, minorities and those on the lower end of the socio-economic sphere)… [Read more…]
So, I believe the day count has reached 50 with regards to how long it has been since the killing of Trayvon Martin; and, throughout the ordeal, I hoped that cooler heads would have prevailed by now. Unfortunately, they haven’t. Now you may be asking what I mean when I say “cooler heads”? Well, I’ll tell you. Let… [Read more…]

I mean, "tricks and ridicule" is hardly what ended the life of Robert Champion. Tricks and ridicule don't get students in jail, university Presidents in peril, and parents in a panic. No, the vagueness and obscurity by students committing these deplorable acts is why Haz-ing Has Become Haz-y.

As you probably know, I’ve missed the mark recently; however, I have made some necessary adjustments in order to meet the demand for more Sillethoughts. So, with no further ado, let’s get started. Unless… [Read more…]

And what’s even more disturbing is that they seem perfectly content with allowing their belief and… [Read more…]
I need a favor from those of you that have been following my blog since it began (like my girl Cool V). I need for you to explain to my growing list of new readers that, from time to time, I cut through the introspective niceties, get real, and go off. THIS is one of those… [Read more…]
